Today was a good day to clean. My flat is only small and I do tend to stay on top of it normally. But that said, this clean up was the one that wasn’t sorted after Xmas.
Both my bathroom and kitchen get a complete scrub thoroughly with bleach. I use bleach because if nothing else it just smells ‘clean’.
Hair, wtf is that all about. It gets everywhere and this was just at the dusting and sweeping stage, forget the scrubbing for now.
You can’t go wrong with shack ‘n’ vac …. Or can you?!! I open the lid to ‘sprinkle’ gently over the carpet and the lid flew off…….. I have to say at this stage that I kept my cool and to add that shake ‘n’ vac works perfectly on furniture too.
The vacuum wasn’t picking up so well, so I decided to empty the drum. I think you all know what’s coming here; funny enough so did I and was extra careful as I pulled out the container filled with even more hair and rested it on the arm of the sofa. Success. Noticing the dirt and dust in the mechanism of the machine I decided to give that a quick wipe. I spun around to reach for the cloth and that’s when I caught the container that was resting happily on the arm of the sofa………….
The home is now clean! I was going to cook but I’d only burn it. I think a Chinese is in order and a nice movie.
I remember once letting a girl leave my life, I let her go. It’s never been my way to chase a girl. She made me happy. Complete.
My friend said aloud that ‘’it probably wouldn’t have worked out anyway.’’
My mum was there and heard what he said then looked at me whilst addressing him and said, ‘’the problem is that it probably would have worked out’’

Damn the lottery, just one number and the bonus! Still, gotta be in to win.
On a happier note Arsenal still top the English football league .... but that wont pay the bills!
I’ve had a great weekend so far which even meant me sleeping out last night, well I’m not complaining! I knew I had to get back tonight as tomorrow is my day with my little girl (who incidentally is taller than me now), and I needed some quality time with her, anyway I don’t involve my girlfriends with my child, in fact very few have seen her let alone met her, and those that have are of a very special ilk.
Let me set the scene. In the last 12 hours, the weather on the coast has been uncommonly mild for this season and has melted nearly all the snow which has caused chaos with rivers flooding and streams running alongside roads where the Victorian gutters can’t cope. Then from out of the blue a fog rolled in from the sea and began to freeze everything again. Living on the coast you soon learn as a driver that ‘freezing fog’ is a killer.
I pulled out of her drive and headed back home, I was not so familiar with the roads out here in the country and drove very cautiously. It was that bad that I was thinking I should have stayed over again. So with fog lamps pointing the direction I followed my sense of direction and continued, that’s when I realised there was nothing on the road but me. It was very eerie and reminiscent of that film ‘The Fog’. The heater was on and I had music playing, yet as comfortable as I was I was relieved to see the tail lights of a couple of other cars up ahead. After about 45 minutes I began to see a much more familiar setting, and then I began to smile as at last I could hear the waves pounding the sea wall and the smell of salt in the air. Home.

Be safe dear as a no matter how tall she may get she will always need her daddy~
Lol, you were scared of the monsters in the fog...admit it!!
Not only do we like to queue up over here but we really do like to have a moan in this country. The ‘moan’ right now is the weather, more accurately ‘the snow’. We are such wusses, but here’s the thing, whether it’s an inch or ten inches it’s no louder than a usual moan.
I must admit that here in the south east of the country I have never seen it this bad, in fact most of the country has never seen more than four to six inches until you travel further north. To be snowed in was just an expression we would hear on TV.
The gritter trucks have been taken out of the control of local authority and are now directly under government control, that may help some but we shall see. The shovel market has peaked so at least someone is benefitting from all this. So on with the moaning.
Every Friday I come home early from work, it’s a great start to the weekend and allows me to catch up on shopping or housework or just to be lazy. The gang were arranging a meet up in town and I did my usual ‘’I’ll try and get there’’ trick, knowing full well I wouldn’t be going. I’m not really a pub/bar type of guy and when I do go it’s only to socialise.
Before leaving for work in the morning I took out from the freezer a chicken stew I had left over from earlier in the week (dumpling and all) and expected to eat that in front of a nice film. I like the idea of just heating food through as opposed to standing over a cooker and cooking after a long bitterly cold week.
The kids have been off from school all week and I could hear my neighbour’s kids from the street, so with car locked and a small bag of groceries in hand I made my way to the front door and ascended my stairs. My neighbour caught me half way up to apologise for the noise and explained that it was one of her son’s birthday and she was due to expect 18 kids but only 9 had shown up because of the weather. She went on to ask me in for lunch as she had so much food ….. I dumped my shopping and headed straight back down to hers.
The noise didn’t seem to matter as I stuffed my face with burgers, chips and all sorts. Then we did a bit of karaoke which amused the kids as we sang a rendition of a Sonny and Cher hit, then she and I sat at the table eating ice cream whilst it snowed outside with temperatures reaching an unprecedented minus 8 degrees ….. but it didn’t matter how cold it was out there as I was warm and fed!
I went back to work yesterday to find that three people over the holidays were told not to return this year. Then like a bomb shell a further four were dismissed or left due to ... whatever.
My goal for this year was to quit smoking, well that didn't happen, I wont even use the dismissals at work as an excuse.
I came outside to have a fag break (yea, that's an official term) and I had to snap this sunset (4pm ish).
It really did look better than my phone could ever portray, the sky was a beautiful burn orange.
In a way it was sad, maybe sad for the families that will now struggle through the rest of this winter.
When I eventually finished work the temp had dropped to a minus -6C.
It was fresh but I had survived the onslaught of the first day back.
The sky was clear and I decided to take this picture of the moon ...
I wish life was as easy as Sunsets and Moons.
